Sunday Brunch Success!

Thanks to the more than 100 people who turned out this sunny Sunday morning for our Blue Plate Brunch, we are now well on our way to building the walls of our Habitat home! The brunch and raffle raised $5,500 and many of our guests generously added even more to the suggested brunch donation, and gave to Women Build by adding their signatures to The Quilt Project.

Once again, there was a palpable, positive vibe flowing through the room. The brunch fare was wonderful. The offerings included tasty vegetable tostados, quiche, salad, pasta, fresh fruit and more plus delectable bread pudding for dessert. And a Blue Plate brunch wouldn't be complete without mimosas! Thanks to owner Judy Grunberg (a Women Build Steering Committee member) and her staff for treating us royally.

Thanks also to the generous business owners who donated raffle prizes. Please patronize their businesses and give them a big thanks on our behalf: American Pie, Fork and Pencil, Van Alstyne Jewelers,
and Welcome Home, all in Chatham; Tim Albright Design, Coxsackie; Circa Trade and Lilliandloo, both in Hudson; Great Finds, Valatie; and Sandy Klempner Antiques, Canaan.

Delightful background music was provided gratis by the Bennington Wind Trio: Barbara Ghaney on oboe, Ron Lively on clarinet, and Leon Ponter, bassoon.

A special thanks to Steering Committee member Barbara Henry who organized the event, and all her helpers.

We hope to see everyone at our many May events - Cinco de Mayo, Women Build Week, and the Garden and Home Luncheon May 18. Stay tuned for more information!
